Aurora residents sue to stop apartments next to gated community

Sixteen residents in Aurora have sued the city’s mayor and city council in an attempt to stop the construction of an apartment complex near their gated golf course community.The lawsuit, filed April 5 in Arapahoe County District Court, asks a judge there to overturn a unanimous vote by the city’s planning commission that approved the project.The Garrett Cos., an Indiana-based builder of apartment complexes, intends to turn a vacant 15-acre lot at East Aurora Parkway and South Quemoy Way in southeast Aurora into Echelon at Eagle Bend. Gavin Newsom announced Monday that the state had secured an emergency stockpile of up to two million pills of Misoprostol, a widely-used abortion medication.The announcement comes after a federal judge in Texas on Friday halted FDA approval of Mifepristone, another abortion medication, in what is viewed as a major victory for anti-abortion conservatives. Male Pedestrian Pronounced Dead after Fatal Collision near Wilmington BoulevardWILMINGTON, CA (April 10, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, one man was fatally struck in a pedestrian accident on Pacific Coast Highway.Authorities responded to the scene around 5:20 p.m., near Wilmington Boulevard on April 2nd.Per reports, a man was walking north across Pacific Coast Highway within a marked crosswalk against a red light when the driver of a westbound Scion xB struck him.Upon impact, the driver of the Scion stopped and assisted the severely injured man.
