CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (KDVR) -- A former bus driver for Douglas County School District is facing 30 misdemeanor child abuse charges for an incident caught on camera in early March.Brian Fitzgerald, 61, was driving students from Castle Rock Elementary School on March 1, when he addressed the children on the bus. What Purina says it’s doing to eliminate odor at Denver plant "You guys need to be in your seats," Fitzgerald said on the intercom. "You want to see how dangerous that is?"Moments later, Fitzgerald allegedly hits the brakes of the bus, causing some children to bump into the seats in front of them. A speedometer on the video recording shows the speed drop from 9 mph to zero.Castle Rock Police investigated the incident and issued a citation that includes 30 misdemeanor charges for knowing and reckless child abuse. DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) — Residents of Daytona Beach were amazed when the nearby shores revealed a massive shipwreck, the second to be discovered in recent times. The discovery has sparked excitement among residents and tourists who are eager to learn more about the sunken vessels.The drone video showed the outline of an old ship’s hull, making it the second wreckage that has been unearthed off the central Florida coast since Hurricane Ian and Nicole tore across the beaches. According to the Volusia Beach Patrol, the shipwreck is about 25-30 feet long and appears to be very old.“It’s kind of cool to see these blasts from the past, unfortunately, due to the lost sand,” said Captain Aj Miller of the Volusia Beach Patrol. Waterspout dissipates after making landfall on Hollywood Beach

Two waterspouts touched down on the coasts of Broward County beaches before immediately dissipating, Friday afternoon.One of the weather phenomena made landfall around 12:45 p.m., on the shores just east of the intersection of Hayes Street and North Surf Road.Live video footage captured a funnel over the ocean where a disturbance in the water could be seen.At the time of the video, the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning after the waterspout made landfall but has since been lifted. Once a waterspout makes landfall, experts consider it a tornado.The winds from the tornado briefly picked up chairs and umbrellas before the tornado disappeared.

Farm Share distributes food in Lauderdale Lakes as demand surges after historic floods

Farm Share, the largest food bank in Florida hosted a food distribution in Lauderdale Lakes Friday morning. For many, it couldn’t have come at a better time after the historic floods that occurred in Broward last week. “Lot of water and lots of rain,” said a woman who was in line. Organizers experienced longer lines at the First Baptist Church on Oakland Park Boulevard which has led them to reach out to Farm Share for additional help.“We truly did reach out we used all of our agencies and all of our partners to let them know that this was happening today,” said a woman. Recipients received fresh produce and non-perishable canned goods. “The back of my house was totally flooded, the family room the water just came pouring in,” said a woman.“You’re already in a devasted state from the flood and now they’re going to give you a relief, to help you out with food so that saves the cost on it,” said another woman who was in ...

Person in custody after reports of man waving a gun in downtown Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale Police took a man into custody after they advised the public to avoid an area in downtown Fort Lauderdale due to a SWAT situation.Police responded to reports of a man waving a gun on a balcony at The Society Las Olas, located at 301 SW 1st Avenue, around 10:30 a.m., Friday.Officers were able to get the man to come down peacefully.https://twitter.com/ftlauderdalepd/status/1649441642640711681Because of the threat, they asked for people in the area south of Broward Boulevard between Andrews Avenue to Southwest 3rd Avenue to remain indoors. Officers and personnel at the Bristol County House of Corrections are dealing with an “incident” at the facility that started after authorities attempted to move inmates to different housing units, according to officials.In an update provided by the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office, officials said the incident occurred while staff were taking steps to make the facility “more suicide-resistant.”“Part of this process is moving inmates to different housing units,” an official with the sheriff’s office stated. “Friday morning, some inmates in one of the housing units did not want to move, leading to the current incident.”Details on the incident itself have been limited, with SKY7-HD spotting at least two dozen officers and staff monitoring a part of the jail from the outside. Man shot by sheriff's deputies in North County

FALLBROOK, Calif. -- A man was taken to the hospital after he was shot by deputies in North County, authorities said.The San Diego Sherriff’s Department confirmed the incident occurred shortly after 1 a.m. Friday morning on the 4900 block of White Lilac Road in Fallbrook. 1 dead in East County house fire Officials say there were reports of a home disturbance prior to the shooting. When authorities arrived they say a 40-year-old man confronted them outside the home with a rifle in hand.Lt.
